Stories told the Native Way by Terry Wildman:

GREAT SPIRIT GUIDE (Psalm Twenty Three)

STORYTELLER (John 1:1-18)

BIG SMALL ONE (Isaiah 9:6-7)

HONORED SERVANT (Philippians 2:5-11)

SORROW BECOMES DANCING (Psalm 30:11-12)

Storytelling has always been the way First Nations people in North America have kept their history alive.

Storytelling explains life and helps us learn about who we are and what our ancestors did.

RainSong puts the bible into First Nations Storytelling form with the flute and other instruments in the background.

They soon will begin a “Sacred Story” project where the story of the Bible will be condensed into a narrative about 1 hour long.  They also have an artist working on pictures that will be put in a storybook also telling the story.  A CD with music and narrative will be included.

As they have traveled and shared these stories at their live events many have responded with open hearts and gratitude.  Many with tears have said “we never heard it this way before”.

Recently an Ojibwe church in Minnesota did a Christmas play using one of the stories Terry had written about the Birth of Jesus the Chosen-one.  The children dressed in their best Ojibwe outfits and danced into the church singing “Sacred Warrior”.   A young Ojibwe man was the “storyteller” and told the story to the children around a fire circle.

They get requests often for “more stories” quite often.  Terry enjoys writing and sharing these stories and will continue to dig deeper for more.
